Fall 2025 overview

REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Westport Field Hockey offers a full suite or Fall Programs for Westport players as well as for players who do not have a youth program in their own area.

Please note that a small amount has been added to the registration fees as the town of Westport now charges a per player fee to use the field.

Some times may be adjusted if we are able to have lights on Ginny Parker.

K-2nd GRADE PROGRAM

Will focus on getting familiarized with stick and ball and small sided games

PRACTICES (may be adjusted): Saturdays 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

COST: $375 includes pinnie or t-shirt

3rd/4th GRADE PROGRAM

Will focus on field hockey fundamentals and small-sided in-house games each week. Playdays will be scheduled with similar programs towards the end of the season in addition to the in-house games.

We need a volunteers (4-6 minimum) to help manage each practice group. Please contact Clara Ambrose, claraambrose1@gmail.com if you are interested, we need you!

  • In-house Teams - Assigned for practices and in-house scrimmages each week

  • In-house Games/Scrimmages - Will begin 2-3 weeks into the season

  • Playdays with other programs - 1-2 playdays towards the end of the season

PRACTICES (may be adjusted): Wednesdays 5-6:30 pm, Saturdays 11:30-1 pm

COST: $500 + $30 Pinnie

5th-8th TRAVEL PROGRM

Full Travel Program with 2-3 practices per week, weekend travel games (Saturday or Sunday) and jamborees/tournament play. Teams will be leveled.

Mandatory Evaluations (must attend or come to makeup week of Aug 25th)

WED JUNE 4 - 5-6:30 5th thru 8th Grades

There will be NO CUTS, all registered and paid players make a team, these are primarily for team placement.

PRACTICES (2x per week): 

5/6 - Mondays/Thursdays (+Fridays as needed) 5-6:30 pm

7/8 - Tuesdays (+ Wednesdays as needed) 5-6:30 pm, Saturdays 10-11:30 am

COST: $675 + Uniform Fee for new players $175 (Uniforms must be ordered online). Includes reversible pinnie. 

PROGRAM NOTES

Cancellation Policy: There is a $75 fee for cancelling registration up to the first practice for 5th-8th grades. There is a $50 fee for cancelling registration up to the first session for 3rd/4th grades. There is no refund for cancellations after the first practice.

Out of Town Players: Westport Field Hockey is open to Westport Residents and/or existing players. As space allows, players from other towns may be allowed to play if they do not have a program in their own town or if they go to school in that town. To be added to our waitlist, please go to the registration page. There is no guarantee that a player will be taken off this waitlist.

UNIFORMS & LOGOWEAR

Uniforms: All 5th-8th Graders will wear uniforms. The uniforms include a home and away top, skort and white and navy socks.

Logowear: Will be available online at a later date for ordering for all Westport Field Hockey players/parents. More to come. Show your spirit!

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • Properly sized outdoor field hockey stick

  • Mouthguard (no strap), can not be clear

  • Eye Cages are NO LONGER REQUIRED, Masks must be worn for defensive penalty corners

  • Shin Guards

  • Sneakers/Turf Shoes/Cleats
